The deployment of business rules to Rule Execution Server consists
of placing rules developed in Rule
Designer
on a target system, including configuration steps if necessary.
RuleApps and RuleApp projects
A RuleApp is a deployable management unit that contains
one or more rulesets which typically share the same object model.
A RuleApp is described in an XML file named a RuleApp descriptor.
In Rule
Designer,
RuleApps are handled inside projects.
Creating RuleApp projects
To deploy a ruleset to Rule Execution Server, you
create a RuleApp project and add ruleset archives.
Editing RuleApp projects
After you have created a RuleApp project, you can modify
or delete it using the RuleApp Editor. If something is invalid in
the project and you cannot read the file, you can still view the Source
page in read-only mode.
Working with Rule Execution Server configurations
To deploy and execute the rules that you have authored
in Rule
Designer,
you create a Rule Execution Server
configuration project in Rule
Designer,
create and edit a Rule Execution Server configuration,
test your connection to Rule Execution Server, and
open the Rule Execution Server console.
Deploying and exporting RuleApps
You can deploy and export RuleApps and RuleApp archives
from within Rule
Designer or
by using Ant tasks.
