Rule Designer provides a running and debugging environment to test the execution of a ruleset.

Overview: Testing rules and ruleset execution
You test rules and ruleset execution to make your business rule application behave as expected without defects. You can debug locally or remotely. To debug a ruleset and the application concurrently, you must use Rule Designer.
Building and running
Describes how to build a business rule project, prepare it for execution, and run it by loading a ruleset archive into an engine and executing the engine.
Creating a debugger launch configuration
Before you start a debug session, you must create a debugger launch configuration. Rule Designer provides different launch configurations for rule projects or for local or remote Java™ applications with rules or RuleApps.
Debugging
In Rule Designer, start a debugging session and use the debug tools to test and evaluate your business rules.
Debugging your Java application remotely
You can debug a Java application that executes a ruleset remotely on a remote virtual machine.
