Cloud Pak for Data online backup and restore

You can create online backups of a IBM Cloud Pak for Data instance and restore a backup to the same cluster or to a different cluster.

Options What to do
You want to create backups. Create backups with one of the following products:
  1. The Cloud Pak for Data OADP backup and restore utility
  2. IBM Storage Fusion
You want to restore a backup to the same cluster. Restore backups to the same cluster with one of the following products:
  1. The Cloud Pak for Data OADP backup and restore utility
  2. IBM Storage Fusion
You want to test disaster recovery by restoring a backup to a passive cluster. Use IBM Storage Fusion to set up a test cluster and restore Cloud Pak for Data.
You want to restore a backup to a different cluster. Restore an online backup to a different cluster with IBM Storage Fusion.
After recovering Cloud Pak for Data from a disaster, you want to resume backups on the new cluster. Use IBM Storage Fusion to resume backups on the new cluster.
