Installing and configuring Planning Analytics

To install and configure the Planning Analytics service on IBM® Cloud Pak for Data, you must complete several tasks in sequence.

Setting up the cluster for Planning Analytics
If you plan to install Planning Analytics on IBM Cloud Pak for Data, a cluster administrator must set up the cluster for Planning Analytics.
Installing Planning Analytics
A project administrator can install the Planning Analytics service on IBM Cloud Pak for Data.
Provisioning the Planning Analytics service
After the Planning Analytics service is installed, an IBM Cloud Pak for Data administrator must provision an instance of Planning Analytics.
Modifying the default route for Planning Analytics Workspace
When you provision Planning Analytics from IBM Cloud Pak for Data, a unique default route is created to access the cluster, in the form https://<pa-route>.<your-cpd-cluster-host>. You can modify the route to make is more meaningful and recognizable.
Connect Planning Analytics Workspace to an external Planning Analytics TM1 database
If you have installed and provisioned an internal TM1® database, but later decide to connect to an external database, you can configure Planning Analytics Workspace in IBM Cloud Pak for Data to connect to an external TM1 database.
Downloading and installing Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel
The Planning Analytics service for IBM Cloud Pak for Data includes the capability to integrate a local desktop installation of Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel.
