Setting z/OS UNIX subproject preferences

You can set the z/OS® UNIX subproject preferences through the workbench Preferences window.

About this task

The Preferences window contains a set of z/OS UNIX subproject preference pages. Each preference page is populated with default settings that you can customize to meet your requirements. These default preference settings are shipped in an XML file that is stored in the TPFSHARE directory. The z/OS UNIX subproject preference pages are initially populated with these default values.

When you customize the preferences in your workspace, the customized settings are stored in an XML file in the workspace_location\project directory, where workspace_location is the path to your workspace.

Preferences that are set in the z/OS UNIX subproject preference pages apply globally to all z/OS UNIX subprojects. You can override these preferences for a specific z/OS UNIX subproject in the Properties window.

Procedure

  1. In the Preferences window, navigate to z/OS Solutions > z/OS UNIX Subprojects node.
  2. If you change any settings on a particular preference page and want to restore the defaults that are stored in TPFSHARE, click Restore Defaults in that preference page.
The preference page is repopulated with the values loaded from the configuration files in TPFSHARE. When you save your settings, these values are written to the XML file in the workspace_location\project directory and overwrite any settings that you previously saved.
