pop create

Creates a protected object policy (POP).

Requires authentication (administrator ID and password) to use this command.

Syntax

pop create pop_name

Options

pop_name
Specifies the name of the POP to be created. A valid protected object policy name is an alphanumeric string that is not case-sensitive. String values are expected to be characters that are part of the local code set. Spaces are not allowed. Avoid the following characters in the POP name:
! " # & ( ) * + , ; : < > = @ / \ | .
Note: Although a POP name can contain 1 or more of these characters, the results of using such a POP are undefined.

Examples of POP names are poptest and pop1.

Return codes

0
The command completed successfully.
1
The command failed. When a command fails, the pdadmin command provides a description of the error and an error status code in hexadecimal format (for example, 0x14c012f2). See "Error messages" in the IBM Knowledge Center. This reference provides a list of the Security Access Manager error messages by decimal or hexadecimal codes.

Example

The following example shows how to create and display a POP:
pdadmin sec_master> pop create test
The new POP contains new POP settings like:
pdadmin sec_master> pop show test
