What's new for IBM Enterprise Records 5.2.0 users

Enhanced performance and scalability
Improve Initiate Disposition for a large file plan.
Usability enhancements
  • Complete missing base features for IBM Enterprise Records IBM Content Navigator based user interface
  • Create IBM Content Navigator based version of the base IBM Enterprise Records custom step processors and workflows
Customer enhancements
Static last modified date is an API feature that allows the user to configure the declaration of a document so that the last modified date of a document is not updated when it is declared a record.
Integration improvements
Remove dependency on deprecated FileNet® P8 API.
DoD enablement enhancement provides access to DoD-related features through the Java API for Records Management.
Improve IBM Atlas Policy Suite connector for consistency and scale.
Complete support for IBM Content Foundation. Simplify configuration of IBM Enterprise Records with IBM Content Foundation by eliminating manual steps for setting up and configuring the traditional FileNet P8 API.
Features added in the user interface
Completion of the redesigned user interface that is based on technology improves user efficiency.

Known Limitations, V5.2.0

DoD limitations
DoD specific user interface features are not enabled in the IBM Enterprise RecordsV5.2.0 user interface. There is DoD enablement through APIs.

  • Audit Configuration (DoD audit filtering, auditing is supported)
  • Transfer Mappings
  • DoD-specific workflows and step processors
Missing IBM Content Navigator features
Some of the features available in IBM Content Navigator are not supported in this version of the IBM Enterprise Records plug-in.
  • No thumbnail support. Records do not have content.
  • No filmstrip view. Records do not have content.
  • Social features like comments, likes, magazine view.
  • Multiple properties edit. IBM Enterprise Records properties dialog is different from IBM Content Navigator properties dialog.
  • Cross repository search. IBM Enterprise Records search is different from IBM Content Navigator search due to complications of records.
  • Cannot generate a URL to an object. This feature sends a URL link to a record to another user. The user can select the URL to view the record and then complete the processing on that record. All record actions would be available when the record is viewed.
  • Multiple properties edit.
  • Drag not supported, but instead support move operations only through menus.
