To ensure that the IBM Spectrum® Protect
Plus agent can
connect to the Office 365 tenant, you must register the Office 365 tenant credentials, and the proxy
host server with IBM Spectrum Protect
Plus. This procedure is
necessary to ensure that Office 365 data can be backed up to IBM Spectrum Protect
Plus.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have a Linux® system
that can act as the cloud proxy machine. IBM Spectrum Protect
Plus deploys the backup agent on this machine. For more information about the requirements, see Office 365 requirements. Ensure that the
Office 365 application is registered with Azure Active Directory. For instructions, see Registering with Azure Active Directory.
Procedure

In the navigation pane, expand .

On the Office 365 page, click Manage application servers, and then click Add
application server.

On the Organization Properties page, complete the following fields:
- In the Organization Name field, enter the name of the organization that
you set up in the Azure Active Directory admin center.
Note: This is the Organization/Tenant name
such as tenantname.onmicrosoft.com, and is not viewable when you are registering the Azure
application.
- In the Tenant ID field, enter the string from the Directory (tenant)
ID field in the Azure Active Directory application registration.
- In the Application ID field, enter the string from the Application
(client) ID field in the Azure Active Directory application registration.
- In the Application Secret field, enter the password string that was
generated during the Azure Active Directory application registration.

On the Proxy Properties page, complete the following fields:
- In the Host Address field, enter the host name or IP of the Linux server that is being used as the proxy host.
- For host server authentication, select one of the following options:
- User: Select an existing user, or enter a user ID and the associated password.
- SSH Key: Select a Secure Shell (SSH) key from the drop-down list.

Click Save.
Results
When a proxy host is registered in IBM Spectrum Protect
Plus,
an inventory is run automatically on the Office 365 organization, which returns the Office 365 users
in that resource.
