Installing Optim Test Data Management Solution
Optim™ Test Data Management Solution allows you to create realistic, right-sized test databases, edit data to force error and boundary conditions, and compare baseline data against successive test results to pinpoint application errors that could otherwise go undetected. By streamlining your test data management process the Optim Test Data Management Solution can help you improve quality, speed iterative testing tasks, and accelerate revenue generation.
Your Test Data Management Solution includes optional components such as:
- The data privacy option is an optional, chargeable component that will allow Optim Test Data Management customers to mask and transform sensitive test data as part of their test data management efforts. Optim masking techniques include using arithmetic expressions, sub-strings, random or sequential number generation, date aging, and more. An important feature lets you propagate masked values from a parent table to related tables at all levels to maintain the referential integrity of the data.
- Non relational connectors add test data management support for many non relational and legacy data sources to privatize or create right-sized test databases, edit data to force error and boundary conditions, and compare baseline data against successive test results to pinpoint application errors that could otherwise go undetected.
- Optim designer, based on the Eclipse platform, is an optional component of the test data management solution that you can use to build and discover models for Optim test data management processing. When installed with an Optim workstation, the designer can also be used to initiate test data management processing.
To install Optim Test Data Management Solution on a distributed platform, obtain the installation images and choose an installation roadmap. You must then verify that your computers meet the installation requirements and install and configure Optim Test Data Management Solution and any of the components that you want.
If adding test data management functionality to a previous installation of Optim Data Growth Solution, open the Optim Configuration program and click to open the Specify Product License Key dialog and apply your new license key.
