Overview for installing and configuring the Optim data privacy user-defined functions
You can install the Optim™ data privacy user-defined functions (UDFs) in various database management systems (DBMSs) and platforms.
- DB2® for Linux®, UNIX, and Windows
- Db2 for z/OS®
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Netezza®
- Oracle
- Teradata
The data privacy UDF installation media includes software for the supported platforms and bit format variations, including Microsoft Windows, UNIX, Linux, and z/OS, in 31-bit, 32-bit, and 64-bit formats.
When you download the Optim data privacy provider library, separate folders are included in the library to install the Optim data privacy UDFs in each supported environment (see Note). Each UDF folder includes the Optim data privacy providers that are used by the UDFs to mask data in your target database. You can use the data privacy UDFs in SQL to mask data in the database using SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, and CREATE TABLE AS operations. There is no need to extract and load sensitive data. For information on the Optim data privacy providers, see Optim data privacy provider library.
The steps that are required to install the UDFs vary by environment, so separate instructions are provided for each environment.
