Editing the configurable service for a MedicalDeviceInput node by using the IBM Integration Explorer

Use the IBM Integration Explorer to edit the configurable service for a MedicalDeviceInput node to add or edit device connections and measurement sets.

Before you start:

Create a configurable service for a MedicalDeviceInput node. See Configuring a MedicalDeviceInput node.

To edit the configurable service for a MedicalDeviceInput node by using the IBM Integration Explorer, you must first configure the IBM Integration Explorer, see Configuring the IBM Integration Explorer. Configuring the IBM Integration Explorer opens the Navigator view, which you can then use to edit configurable services for MedicalDeviceInput nodes. After you complete the configuration, you do not have to repeat the configuration for every configurable service you want to edit.

After you complete the configuration of the IBM Integration Explorer, edit the configurable service for a MedicalDeviceInput node; see Editing the configurable service for a MedicalDeviceInput node. Repeat these steps for every configurable service you want to edit.

Configuring the IBM Integration Explorer

  1. Configure the IBM Integration Explorer to open in an Eclipse workbench:
    1. In the IBM Integration Explorer, click Window > Preferences. The Preferences window opens.
    2. Select WebSphere MQ Explorer, then in the Startup area, select in an Eclipse Workbench.
    3. In the Navigator View area, ensure Show Advanced Folders is selected. Click OK.
    4. For your changes to take effect, close and reopen the IBM Integration Explorer.
  2. Open the Navigator view in the IBM Integration Explorer:
    1. Click Window > Show View > Other. The Show View window opens.
    2. Expand General and select Navigator. Click OK. The Navigator view opens.

Editing the configurable service for a MedicalDeviceInput node

  1. Import the container project that contains the configurable service you want to edit into the Navigator view in the IBM Integration Explorer. The container project is the application, library, or Message Broker project that contains the configurable service.
    1. Click File > Import. The Import window opens.
    2. Expand General and select Existing Projects into Workspace. Click Next.
    3. Select Select root directory. Click Browse and navigate to the root directory of the container project that contains the configurable service file you want to edit. Select the root directory and click OK. The container project is shown in the Projects list.
    4. In the Projects list, ensure that the required container project is selected and click Finish. The selected project is shown in the Navigator view.
  2. In the Navigator view, expand the container project that contains the configurable service file you want to edit and double-click the required configurable service file. The Medical Device Configurable Service editor opens.
  3. You can now add device connections; see Adding a device connection.
  4. You can edit existing device connections and measurement sets; see Editing a device connection or Editing a measurement set.
  5. You can remove existing device connections; see Removing a device connection.
