Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA): EM means

The EM means dialog provides options for selecting the factors and interactions for which you want estimates of the population marginal means in the cells. These means are adjusted for the covariates, if any.

Specifying EM means for Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA)

  1. From the menus choose:

Analyze > Group comparison - parametric > Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA)

  2. In the Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) dialog, expand the Additional settings menu and click EM means.
  3. Click the Enable EM means toggle control to enable EM means for the procedure.
  4. Click Select factors and interactions under Display means for to select factors and factor interactions in order to display the estimated marginal means. For more information, see Select factors and interactions.
  5. After adding the desired factors, you can optionally click each link under the Display means for section to further define each comparison and covariate value. For more information, see Define comparison values.
  6. Optionally, select Display grand mean of dependent variable to include the dependent variable grand mean in the output.
