When a program issues a VSAM RLS request (OPEN, CLOSE, or Record
Management request), the program must be running in the following
run mode, with the listed constraints:
- Task mode (not SRB mode)
- Address space control=primary
- Home address space=primary address space=secondary address space
- No functional recovery routine (FRR) can be in effect, but an
ESTAE might be.
The VSAM RLS record management request task must be the same task
that opened the ACB, or the task that opened the ACB must be in the
task hierarchy. That is, the record management task was attached by
the task that opened the ACB, or by a task that was attached by the
task that opened the ACB.
