SMTP environment

Figure 1 shows the SMTP environment.

Diagram of the SMTP environment shows that a sender SMTP and a receiver SMTP can transfer electronic mail through a TCP/IP connection using SMTP protocol. The sender SMTP and the receiver SMTP also can transfer data to their own local users and file systems using local routines.
