Receiver SMTP

The receiver SMTP provides the following functions:
  • Accepts mail from remote TCP/IP hosts
  • Delivers mail to the local user using TSO TRANSMIT to the spool for the local user
  • Forwards mail to the next "hop", if this is not the final destination
  • Rejects mail for recipients who are not valid
