Diagnosing SNMP problems
Problems with SNMP are generally reported under one of
the following categories:
- Abends
- Connection problems
- Incorrect output
- No response from the SNMP agent
- Report received from SNMP agent
- 0.0.0.0 address in traps from the SNMP agent
- I/O error for SNMP PING
- Traps not forwarded by trap forwarder daemon
- Incorrect address in forwarded trap
Note: A nonzero return code from the SNMP agent indicates an
abnormal termination. For more information, use the SNMP agent traces
sent to the SYSLOGD output.
