Volume serialization

DFSMShsm always allocates the source and dump volumes for the full-volume dump before it invokes DFSMSdss. DFSMSdss performs only volume level serialization during full-volume dump processing. Because DFSMShsm does not perform any data set serialization during full-volume dump processing, activity against a volume being dumped should be kept at an absolute minimum during the full-volume dump process, or errors will occur.
