- Specifies that VTAM use an internal cyclic redundancy check (CRC) algorithm to generate a message authentication code.

- Specifies that VTAM use
the data encryption standard (DES) services provided by the available
Common Cryptographic Architecture (CCA) product to generate a message
authentication code for this application. Note: ENCRTYPE affects the type of encryption used when calculating message authentication code for DES or TDES24.
