Use the TRANSMIT command to send information (a message), or a copy of information (a data set), or both, to another user. The TRANSMIT command converts this data into a special format so that it can be transmitted to other users in the network. Use the RECEIVE command to retrieve the data and restore it to its original format. TRANSMIT is an APF authorized command, and therefore it cannot be called from an unauthorized program.
