Considerations for Cache Structures during System-Managed Processing

z/OS MVS Programming: Sysplex Services Guide
SA23-1400-00

When the system is attempting a system-managed process for a cache structure, additional coupling facility considerations apply. If there is no coupling facility with sufficient storage to copy all data that must be copied from the old structure to the new structure, the rebuild process will attempt to allocate the new structure big enough to copy all appropriate data other than registration data. See Populating the New Structure for additional information about the implications of not copying registration data.
