Starting the User-Managed Rebuild Process

The following are required for starting user-managed rebuild processing:

Rebuild and duplexing rebuild require that there be at least one active connector to the structure at the time of the request.
Duplexing rebuild requires that there be another eligible coupling facility with connectivity to all connectors to the old structure. The coupling facility should provide a failure-independent (failure-isolation) environment. This ensures that the duplexed structures will not both be subject to loss because of a single hardware failure in which both coupling facilities reside.
