A data class is a set of data set allocation attributes and associated values. You can use the ISMF data class panels to define, alter, display, and list a data class. For the TS1140, you can specify (for media types MEDIA9 through MEDIA13) the E4 value for the recording technology attribute EFMT4, and the EE4 value for the recording technology attribute EEFMT4 on the data class define/alter panel. For EEFMT4, a panel is displayed for the user to enter the Key Labels and Encoding Mechanisms. The Performance Scaling and Performance Segmentation data class options can be used with MEDIA9 and MEDIA11. For media interchange, you can specify EFMT3 (E3) or EEFMT3 (EE3) with MEDIA9 and MEDIA10.
