The DEFINE ALIAS command defines an alternate name for a non-VSAM data set or a user catalog. The syntax of the DEFINE ALIAS command is:

Command	Parameters
DEFINE	ALIAS
	(NAME(aliasname)
	RELATE(entryname))
	SYMBOLICRELATE(entryname))
	[CATALOG(catname)]

DEFINE can be abbreviated: DEF
