z/OS Security Server RACF Security Administrator's Guide
SA23-2289-00

To protect a general resource, create a general resource profile using the RDEFINE command. When you create a general resource profile, you must specify a general resource class for the profile.

See Supplied RACF resource classes for a list of the general resource classes that IBM® supplies in the class descriptor table (CDT). The classes for z/OS systems are relevant to the system on which you run Security Server (RACF®). The classes for z/VM® systems are primarily relevant if you share your RACF database with a z/VM system.
