Example 1: Using a separate global zone for each subsystem

In Figure 1, the existing DASD structure for the libraries is maintained, and a separate global zone is defined for each of the subsystems (MVS™, JES3, and IMS™). This CSI structure keeps control of the three subsystems separate. You might use this structure if the system programming support for the three subsystems is organizationally separate. A disadvantage is that there is no single control point (global zone) from which to manage or query the entire system.
