Before you begin: You need to have access to /samples/profile.

Perform the following steps to customize /etc/profile.

1. Copy /samples/profile to /etc/profile. If you already have /etc/profile, then compare it to /samples/profile and retrofit any new updates. For example:

   cp /samples/profile  /etc/profile

2. Edit /etc/profile to change and add environment variables. For more information about environment variables that you can use, see Environment variables that you can customize for /etc/profile.

When you are done, you have customized /etc/profile.
