Formatting dumps

To format problem data in a stand-alone dump or SVC dump, use the interactive problem control system (IPCS) OMVSDATA subcommand. OMVSDATA is not useful in an SYSMDUMP dump or a core dump, which the system writes for an application program, because these dumps do not contain the z/OS UNIX programs or data structures.
