System programmer response

Examine the syslogd destination that is configured to receive error messages for the daemon facility to determine if additional error messages explain more about the problem. To determine which syslogd destination contains these messages, look for a rule in the syslogd configuration file similar to the following: daemon.error destination. Because of the flexibility of syslogd rules, the rule you configured for these messages might look different. See the topic on the syslogd daemon in the z/OS V2R1.0 Communications Server: IP Configuration Reference documentation for the syntax of syslogd rules. Investigate and take action according to these error messages. If a configuration error occurred, correct the error and restart syslogd. If the problem cannot be resolved with the information provided then restart syslogd with the -d start option to get additional debugging information.
