Setting up MO:DCA IS/3 auxiliary pages

PSF can add these auxiliary pages to the output data stream:

  • Separator pages, such as job header, data set header, and job trailer
  • Interrupt message pages
  • Message data sets

When the output data stream sent to a printer contains MO:DCA IS/3 data, you might want the auxiliary pages for that printer to also be MO:DCA IS/3 compliant. The following procedure lets you specify auxiliary pages with page definitions that only use TrueType and OpenType fonts, and then set a parameter so that PSF checks that the pages only contain TrueType and OpenType fonts:

  1. Create or update a PRINTDEV statement in the startup procedure to specify separator page and message OUTPUT statements with page definitions that only use TrueType and OpenType fonts, not FOCA fonts. For example, the OUTPUT statement can define one of these sample page definitions that are shipped with PSF:
    • P1TT6462
    • P1TT6483
See PRT4 in Figure 37 for an example of the startup procedure. See PSF for z/OS: User’s Guide for more information about page definitions.
  2. Set the Printer Inventory parameter Auxiliary files MO:DCA level or the AFPPARMS parameter auxiliary-files-modca-level to IS3. When processing auxiliary pages, PSF checks that the pages contain only TrueType and OpenType fonts. If they contain FOCA fonts, PSF stops processing the auxiliary pages and issues an error message.
