You can convert PPRC volume pairs from PPRC extended distance mode to synchronous mode and vise versa. A switch to synchronous mode can be done using the CESTPAIR command while the volume pair is active or after the volume pair has been suspended. Figure 1 and Table 1 explain the commands used to convert between PPRC states, including PPRC extended distance. Each number in the figure is listed in the table with the appropriate command for that state change.
