What's new in the Service Request tool

Enhancements to the Service Request tool are provided to help administrators give access to guest users to create service requests and also to streamline data selection on service requests to be site-specific.

Guest user access to create service requests

Administrators can give access to guest users to create service requests in the Service Request tool.

In the Service Request Configuration page of the Administration Work Center, administrators who have the requisite permissions can specify access for guest users by company domain name or by email address to grant URL access to create service requests.

Administrators can also set default values for service requests that are created in Work Centers.

Service request configuration to streamline data selection
Administrators can limit the data that can be selected when service requests are created. The data can be limited to include only site-specific information, such as categories, people, locations, and assets that are associated with the user's default insert site.

Security permissions for configuring service requests
New security permissions are added to allow administrators more control over the options that are available to users when they create service requests. The security permissions can be granted in the Security Groups application, by selecting Submit a Service Request on the Applications tab.
