What's new in email listeners

Enhancements to email listeners functionality include embedding images from free-form emails and configuring email listeners to use the OAuth 2.0 protocol.

Embed images from free-form emails in service requests
If the email listener is enabled in the Email Listener application and your Maximo® system is configured to accept service requests through emails, when a service request is submitted in a HTML-based, free-form email, images that are embedded in the body of the email are embedded as a hyperlink in the service request long description and saved as individual attachments to the service request. Supported image types include JPEG, PNG, and GIF. When an image is embedded in a service request instead of saved as a service request attachment only, images can be reviewed in context of the request. This behavior is enabled by default, but you can disable it by setting the mxe.listener.process.cidimages property to 0.

Use the OAuth 2.0 protocol for email listeners
You can now configure email listeners to use the OAuth 2.0 protocol for cloud-based email providers that also use OAuth 2.0.
