What's new in connectivity
Connectivity enhancements in Maximo® Asset Management include an IoT connector to IoT platforms, push notifications for mobile applications, and the ability to import digital data for assets.
Connect with IoT platforms
An IoT connector is added to the Administration Work Center to facilitate connections with IoT platforms. The connector includes a wizard to help you configure connections to IoT platforms, specify how to import data from IoT sensors, and map data that is imported from devices to asset and location meters.
After you configure connections and map devices to asset and location meters, you can associate an IoT device with a specific asset or location. You can then view data from the device on asset or location meters.

Send push notifications to mobile devices
Maximo Asset Management has a new feature that sends push notification messages to supported mobile apps when an event or data change occurs. For example, when a work order is approved, a message is automatically sent to a mobile device if the mobile user is subscribed to the event. To configure your push notification provider for iOS and Android mobile apps, you can use the new Push Notification Administration application.

Import digital data to ensure accuracy of asset and job plan information
New integration functionality is added to allow users to import digital data directly from IBM Digital Twin Exchange into the Maximo database. Digital Twin Exchange is a source of digital data that is provided by equipment manufacturers. After a manufacturer loads digital data for a piece of equipment into Digital Twin Exchange, Maximo customers who buy that equipment and it's digital data can use this integration to update their Maximo database to contain the latest and most accurate digital data for the equipment.
Enabling Java 2 security
Customers who run Maximo Asset Management in an IBM WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment environment can enable Java™ 2 security.
