Examples of email interaction

You use email interaction to send work order and purchasing information to remote users who do not have access to the desktop. The email recipient can change the status of an object or update a workflow assignment. The email recipient changes the status of an object or updates a workflow assignment by specifying a value in an email from a portable device.

Email interaction supports two configurations. Email recipients can reply to an email to change the status of an object or to complete a workflow assignment. For example, an off-site technician can update the status of an assigned work order from Approved to In Progress. For both configurations, email interaction has two email format types. In the simple format, the email recipient can change the status of an object or accept or reject a workflow assignment. In the advanced format, the email recipient can modify attributes that are associated with an object status change or workflow assignment. For example, the user can change the start date, completion date, priority level, or description.
