Configuring host name and DNS information

Use the Hosts page to set any network options, such as a host name, a DNS server, or a search path.

Procedure

  1. On the Hosts page, click Edit, and then configure the following options:
    Option Description
Host Name Specifies a name for the host.
Multicast DNS Specifies whether to enable Multicast DNS (mDNS). Enabling mDNS will broadcast its availability so that you can configure the appliance using an mDNS browser utility, such as Bonjour.
Note: When you disable the mDNS Responder, the appliance does not broadcast a local management web interface or SSH. The appliance firewall will reject multicast packets to destination address 224.0.0.251.
Primary DNS Specifies the primary DNS server IP address.
Secondary DNS Specifies the secondary DNS server IP address.
Tertiary DNS Specifies an optional third DNS server IP address.
Search Paths Specifies one or more DNS search paths. Type each path separated by a comma.
  2. Click Save Configuration.
  3. Click Next Page to configure the next setting.
