Downloading the integrated containerized developer toolkit using UCD

You can extract the integrated containerized developer toolkit by using a UCD process.

Before you begin

Ensure that your local workstation meets the expected system requirements that are described in Prerequisites.

If you have downloaded the preview developer toolkit, you can skip this procedure and directly follow the instructions in the Setting up the containerized developer toolkit environment topic.

Procedure

  1. To set up a developer toolkit environment for customizing and testing extensions for your Sterling™ Order Management System, you must set up an environment that is based on the Integrated Sterling Order Management System Developer Toolkit. You can download the Developer Toolkit from Sterling Order Management System to the local workstation that you are using to set up your developer toolkit environment.
    1. Accessing the dashboard.
    2. From the Dashboard tab, click the main Applications tab.
    3. Within the Applications tab, select your application. Then, click the Environments tab for that application.
    4. Request that a process is to run for the target environment that includes the runtime component that you want to extract by clicking the Image that shows the Request Process button. Request Process icon for the environment.
    5. On the Run Process window, select Extract IBM OMS Integrated Developer Toolkit from the Process menu.

    6. Click Submit to run the process to extract the integrated developer toolkit. The extracted toolkit is downloaded as a devtoolkit_docker.tar compressed file to the configured path on the Drop Server.
    7. Download the devtoolkit_docker.tar from the Drop Server to your local machine. The devtoolkit_docker.tar file includes the compose scripts inside the compose directory and IBM Order Management runtime image.
  2. The developer toolkit is downloaded as devtoolkit_docker.tar to the /home/<tenant-code>/ directory on the Drop Server.
  3. Copy the devtoolkit_docker.tar to a local directory.
Important: Choose the path where you download the devtoolkit_docker directory wisely. If you intend to upgrade this environment later with a new runtime image, you will not be able to change this directory then.
