Enabling the customization menu for a tenant

Learn how to find deployment credentials for all tenants and how to enable the Customizations menu for a tenant to test customizations locally. The IBM documentation refers to this tenant as the customization tenant.

Note: This topic is applicable to the SaaS version of Order Hub only.
To enable the Customizations menu, you must be a Tenant administrator in Order Hub. For more information, see Adding users.

Procedure

  1. Log on to Order Hub with your IBMid.
  2. Select your tenant in the banner.
  3. In the Order Hub navigation menu, select Settings > Display settings > Add ons.
  4. Click the pencil to open Customization configuration.
  5. If you want to use this tenant to test customizations that exist locally on your workstation, select the checkbox for This tenant is used to develop customizations.
This checkbox enables the Customization menu, which you need to use to test customizations.
  6. Click Setup tenant to generate upload parameters that you can use to deploy customizations. If a user previously configured this tenant, the button text is replaced with Regenerate key.
If you click Regenerate key, the old key is invalidated and a new one is generated. Consult your team before you regenerate a key.
The following values are generated. You need these values to deploy customizations to IBM.
    • Customization folder: Use this value in the package.json files as the customizatonContextRoot when deploying customizations.
    • Customization client ID: Use this value as the client-id when deploying customizations.
    • Customization auth key: Use this value as the client-secret when deploying customizations. Copy this key. After you close the window, the key is hidden.
  7. Close the window when you are done.
  8. Refresh the page to see the new Settings > Customizations option in the menu.
