Managing alerts

You can search for, create, view, modify, and close alerts. Alerts provide timely information for issues that require manual intervention.

Overview

Alerts can be raised for several reasons such as fulfillment delays, duplicate orders, payment failures, fraudulent data, cancellation of orders, and many others. These alerts are assigned to relevant queues. You can subscribe to a queue to receive all the alerts that belong to the queue.

Typically, alerts are generated by the system and you can assign the alerts to the user who is responsible for resolving an issue. For example, the system usually controls the scheduling and fulfillment of an order. However, when invalid information is entered during order capture (for example, the system fails to authorize payments for an order) and the order cannot be processed further, human intervention is needed. In such situations, alerts are raised. Based on the type of the alert, appropriate information is displayed. You can view the customer contact details and the reason for failure in the alert. You can inform the customer, and fix the issue.

After an alert is resolved, you can close the alert. You can add a note that explains the reason for closing the alerts. This information can be used for auditing purposes.

Order and shipment alerts

In addition to automatically generated alerts, you can define your own conditions for generating alerts that are related to the progress of processing orders and shipments. The enhanced order monitor and shipment monitor are used to trigger alerts based on the defined alert rules. You can set the interval for evaluating events, which can be set to trigger alerts in real time. Order Hub includes enhancements to the monitor configuration to group alerts per enterprise, automatically subscribe users to order and shipment alert queues, and simplifies the setup that is needed to define order and shipment alert rules.
