Improve performance for backup operations from NetApp file servers
When you configure Tivoli® Storage Manager Version 7.1.4 to back up data from a NetApp network-attached storage (NAS) device, backup operations use a 256 KB tape-block size. In earlier releases, a 64 KB tape-block size was used. The 256 KB tape-block size can improve system performance.
Restriction: To take advantage of the 256 KB tape-block size, you must install Data ONTAP 8.3 or later on the NAS device.
