Troubleshooting problems during installation (Windows)

If you are upgrading from a previous version of Tivoli® Storage Manager and there are Tivoli Storage Manager services running (for example, Client Acceptor or Scheduler), you might see an error during the installation.

If there are other Tivoli Storage Manager client services running on any account (for example, Client Acceptor or Scheduler), you might see a request to reboot the system during installation. You must stop all instances of the Tivoli Storage Manager client on all accounts before starting the installation.

You might see the following error during installation:

  Error 1303. The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: 
  (Install Drive):\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\baclient\plugins. The installation 
  cannot continue. Log on as an administrator or contact your system administrator.

When this error occurs, you must stop the installation. After stopping the installation process, the previous version is no longer installed. Stop the Tivoli Storage Manager services and retry the installation process.
