The VMHOST option value must be specified as an IP address or as a server name that is in fully qualified domain name (FQDN) format. The host name that you specify must match the host name as it is displayed in the vCenter server in the Host and Clusters view. This could be the fully qualified host name (FQDN), the shortened domain name, or the host IP address.
