Tcpnodelay

The tcpnodelay option specifies whether the client disables the delay of sending successive small packets on the network, per transaction.

Change the value from the default of yes only under one of the following conditions:

AIX operating systems HP-UX operating systems Linux operating systems Oracle Solaris operating systems Mac OS X operating systems Windows operating systems

Supported Clients

AIX operating systems HP-UX operating systems Linux operating systems Oracle Solaris operating systems Mac OS X operating systems This option is valid for all UNIX and Linux clientst.

Windows operating systems This option is valid for all Windows clients.

Options File

AIX operating systems HP-UX operating systems Linux operating systems Oracle Solaris operating systems Mac OS X operating systems Place this option in the client system-options file (dsm.sys) within a server stanza. You can set this option on the Communication tab in the Preferences editor. Select Send transaction to the server immediately.

Windows operating systems Place this option in the client options file (dsm.opt). You can set this option on the Communication tab in the Preferences editor. Select Send transaction to the server immediately.

Parameters

No
Specifies that the server does not allow successive small packets to be sent immediately over the network. Setting this option to no can degrade performance.
Yes
Specifies that the server or client allows successive small packets to be sent immediately over the network. The default is yes.
