Tcpcadaddress

The tcpcadaddress option specifies a TCP/IP address for dsmcad. Normally, this option is not needed. Use this option only if your client node has more than one TCP/IP address, or if TCP/IP is not the default communication method.

Supported Clients

This option is valid for all clients. The Tivoli® Storage Manager client API does not support this option.

Options File

Windows operating systems Place this option in the client options file (dsm.opt).

AIX operating systems HP-UX operating systems Linux operating systems Oracle Solaris operating systems Mac OS X operating systems Place this option in the dsm.sys file within a server stanza.

Parameters

cad_address: Specifies a TCP/IP Internet domain name or a numeric IP address. If you specify an IPv6 addresses, you must specify the commmethod V6Tcpip option.

Examples

Options file:

tcpcada dsmclnt.sanjose.ibm.com

Command line:

-tcpcadaddress=128.33.10.249

-tcpcadaddress=mycompany.example.com

-tcpcadaddress=2002:92b:111:221:128:33:10:249

This option is valid only on the initial command line of the dsmcad program. It is not valid with other dsm modules.
