IBM Z Decision Support

IBM Z® Decision Support (previously called Tivoli® Decision Support for z/OS®) is a reporting system which can be used to collect and report on data from the z/OS Resource Measurement Facility (including the data provided by the z/OS Workload Manager), the CICS® monitoring facility, CICS statistics, and Information Management System (IMS). The data is collected in a Db2® database.

The CICS reports supplied in the CICS Performance feature of IBM Z Decision Support are based on data from the CICS monitoring facility. You can also report on CICS-related data from the z/OS Resource Measurement Facility, using reports in the System Performance feature. You can produce reports which:
  • Summarize CMF data by transaction, application, and user ID.
  • List exception conditions from CMF data and CICS statistics.
  • Present data for a transaction across multiple CICS regions.
  • Show trends in selected performance measurements across time.
  • Show detailed information about a selected application or transaction.
  • Analyze transaction response time by z/OS Workload Manager service class.

You need to use the collector function of IBM Z Decision Support to transfer the data into the Db2 database. You can then use the reporting dialog in ISPF to customize and output the supplied range of reports, or create your own reports.

Performance measuring with IBM Z Decision Support provides a summary of using this product with CICS. IBM Z Decision Support web site has the full product documentation and other resources, and tells you how to order IBM Z Decision Support.
