Administering connections to other systems

After you have set up your connections to other systems, such as Db2®, IMS, and IBM® MQ, you can use CICS® to manage those connections.

Administering web support
When you have configured CICS to perform a variety of CICS web support tasks, and you have started to respond to requests from web clients, you might have to administer your CICS web support structure and to provide appropriate handling for requests if a resource is unavailable.

Administering the CICS-MQ adapter
You can use the control functions of the CICS-MQ adapter to initiate, manage, and view the connection between CICS and IBM MQ. You can use CICS-MQ monitors to control the CICS-MQ trigger monitor, CKTI.
Administering the CICS-MQ bridge
To start the bridge, run the CICS-MQ bridge monitor transaction. The default name of the transaction is CKBR, but you can define your own alternative transaction.
Administering FEPI
After you have configured FEPI and deployed FEPI applications, you can use the facilities in CICS to manage the FEPI environment. For example, you can control FEPI resources and manage FEPI with z/OS® Communications Server persistent sessions.
