File key segment resource definitions

File key segment definitions describe the parts of a Windows file record that are to be used as the record key.

Key segments are valid only for:
  • Entry-sequenced files (type E)
  • Key-sequenced files (type K)
Key segments are not valid for:
  • Alternate index files (type A)
  • Relative-record files (type R)
  • Remote files

You cannot install file key segment definitions.
