Stopping the batch container

You run the CBCS transaction to stop the batch container.

About this task

When you stop the batch container, any running jobs will continue to run until they take their next check point, where their state will change to restartable.

Procedure

Run the CBCS transaction:
CBCS uses a default JVM server name of DFHBATJS. If you use a different JVM server name, specify it as a parameter. For example, CBCS MYJVMSRV.

Results

The batch container is stopped. New jobs can be submitted, but these jobs wait in a submitted state on the job scheduler, and are sent to the batch container when it is restarted.

You can purge the CBCH task with the command:
CEMT SET TASK(<CBCH Task ID>) PURGE
If you purge the task, the status of the jobs is unknown. When the batch container is restarted, the jobs are eligible to be restarted from the last checkpoint that was taken.
