Upgrading from CICS Transaction Server for z/OS Developer Trial, Version 5 Release 2

This information is about upgrading from CICS® TS Developer Trial 5.2 to a full version of CICS TS for z/OS®, Version 5.2.

Before you begin

You must order the CICS TS for z/OS, Version 5.2 product from Shopz.

About this task

Important: You must read the Upgrading documentation for the FULL version of the CICS release you are upgrading from, if you have not already done so. Reading the upgrading documentation ensures that you are aware of the changes that apply for that release:

Procedure

  1. Install the CICS TS for z/OS V5.2 - activation module. For more information, see Installing CICS TS for z/OS, Version 5.2.

    There is no need to install the CICS TS for z/OS V5.2 - base because you can use the libraries you installed for CICS TS Developer Trial 5.2.

  2. Replace the SDFHDEV library in the STEPLIB of the CICS TS JCL with the SDFHLIC library.
  3. Validate your CICS TS for z/OS, Version 5.2 installation:
    1. Start CICS.
    2. In the console view, read the initial active messages. Messages DFHTI0200 or DFHTI0201 should not be displayed.

Results

You have now upgraded the CICS TS Developer Trial 5.2 and the installation to CICS TS for z/OS, Version 5.2.
