You can capture CICS® events on operator writes and system messages, and events can be emitted on a one-to-many basis. The CICS-WebSphere MQ Dynamic Program Link (DPL) bridge now supports messages larger than 32 KB. IPIC integration and error recovery is improved. Application storage requirements are reduced, and you can back up and restore entire CICSPlex® SM systems without manual overrides. Extended support is provided for specifying SSL cipher suites.

• Improvements to event processing
  CICS event processing support is expanded to include a WRITE OPERATOR command capture point, a MESSAGE capture point for CICS messages, static data captured from the event binding, searching for system events using the CICS Explorer®, and the ability to emit an event using multiple EP adapters.
• Changes to the CICS-WebSphere MQ DPL Bridge
  The CICS-WebSphere MQ DPL bridge has been enhanced so that data can now be passed as a container. Containers are not restricted to the maximum 32 KB size of a COMMAREA, so this enhancement gives users greater flexibility.
• Enhancements to the EYU9XDBT utility for CMAS and CICSplex definition
  EYU9XDBT, the CICSPlex SM data repository utility program, has enhanced functional and reporting capability.
• Improvements to synchronization of CICS time-of-day clock
  CICS can now handle time changes for daylight savings automatically, so that the need for operator intervention is removed.
• Enhancements to XML data mappings
  The CICS XML and web services assistants now support mapping overrides to improve the readability of generated COBOL language structures.
• Enhancements to container API commands for flexible creation and processing
  New options are added to the GET CONTAINER and PUT CONTAINER commands to enable applications to handle recurring data structures more easily.
• Enhancements to control of TCP/IP connection requests
  The default value of BACKLOG has changed to 0. When BACKLOG is set to 0, the value of SOMAXCONN is used.
• Extended support for cryptographic standards
  A number of enhancements are made to support NIST SP800-131A compliant cipher suites and certificates. These enhancements are supplied in APAR PM97207.
