You can combine and manage disparate application resources as a single entity, which can be versioned and moved rapidly through the development, test, and production lifecycle. Dependency management is handled, and you can measure entire applications for resource use and internal billing. You can also dynamically manage applications by applying policies during run time.

  You can package a CICS application into an application bundle to deploy, manage, and monitor it as a single entity. An application bundle provides a single view of the CICS application and a point of control for application lifecycle management across the CICS regions in a platform.
• Support for application lifecycle management
  CICS provides support for simplified deployment and management of applications. You can now define an application resource that describes all its required resources. With one installation action, you can deploy and create the resources in every CICS region in which the application runs. You can manage the lifecycle of those resources together through the application resource.
• Support for measuring application usage
  CICS provides support for measuring the resource usage of applications. You can define application entry points that add application context data to tasks that run in CICS. Application context data is available in monitoring records to provide a way of measuring how much system resource an application is using in the system.
